Gather students together for the start of the lesson.
Say, “Today we are going to practice reading and spelling some challenging sight words. Remember that a sight word is a word that we see all of the time, yet can often be hard to sound out. We practice using these words so that we can memorize them.
Ask, “What are some sight words that you already know how to read and spell?
Provide time for a few students to point out or say known sight words.
